This is the subject of much recent controversy regarding the boycott of Bollywood movies. This is allegedly a primary cause of movie theater closures, but what can be done when there is a boycott movement and the movie is so good that no boycott is necessary? Among these movies is Liger. Ananya Pandey and Vijay Deverakonda play the key parts in the pan-Indian movie Liger.
Story
The tale of a tea vendor is told in Liger. His parents hope he’ll turn into a combatant. It was claimed that he was a hybrid. A cross between Lawyer and Tiger…with a blend of monotony and superb performance in this movie. It’s good at first, but after a while you get so over-the-top that you get lightheaded. The narrative is not so well written as to be incomprehensible. You are unaware of the circumstances around what is taking place.
Acting
Liger, played by Vijay Deverakonda, is a well-known character. So far, he’s given the best performance. Vijeta has a great appearance in action sequences as well. Vijay’s acting has improved throughout the movie as he adeptly conveyed the feeling of a youngster who is stammering. This is how Ananya Pandey’s persona should have been as she did a great job of capturing the tone of the naive influencer.
Despite this, Ananya’s character has shoddy rewriting, which leaves the audience perplexed and unable to comprehend the character’s tone. Although Ramya Krishnan is as forceful as a stern mother, there are moments when her actions remind us of Sivagami from Baahubali. It’s as though Baahubali has been transported here.
As his coach, Ronit Roy has conducted himself with total candor. Here, Ananya’s on-screen father Chunky Pandey has given his followers a surprise. Chunky appears quite attractive. In the final moments of the movie, Mike Tyson shows up and commands everyone’s attention.
Technical
Technically, the movie appears stunning. The cinematography of Vishnu Sharma is commendable. Las Vegas and Mumbai both appear to be quite lovely. Shot-by-shot scenes are evocative of bigger everyday lives. The editing by Junaid Siddiqui was also excellent. We should be grateful for the work that Fight Masters did on this movie.
The movie’s action sequences were all really fascinating and top-notch. In the movie, Sunil Kashyap has a solid background. The performers’ actions and emotions can be given greater impact with the use of background music. Yes, lovely locations and lovely attire seem well when it comes to general music. You become so engrossed in it that the melody escapes your memory.
The music doesn’t arouse any feeling, even though the songs seem good. Vijay, who is a Banarasi boy raised in Mumbai, did the Hindi dubbing himself; in fact, his lack of technical proficiency is striking.
Verdict
Who among us who loves action would want to miss the bout between the Indian hero and the world-class wrestler Mike Tyson? Action fans should see this movie. Yes, if you are watching the film to figure out the plot, you will be let down. Those who have been eagerly awaiting Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut are optimistic that he will make it. Vijay has been entirely honest in his efforts. The entire movie is worth seeing once, even if the plot is ignored.
